Hello!

This September I will be running my 2nd half marathon to raise money for the Ryan Stanford Appeal. This wonderful charity funds research into understanding the causes of Alpers' syndrome, a devastating, fatal mitochondrial disease which involves severe, uncontrollable epilepsy and a loss of developmental milestones in children. 

As many of you will know, my current PhD research has been funded by the Ryan Stanford Appeal for the past 3 years. It is essential future research can continue to help understand the causes of disease and to potentially identify targets for therapies to help stop the inevitable, progressive neurodegeneration.

All your donations, however big or small, will be extremely appreciated by the many families who have sadly lost their children to Alpers' syndrome including Ryan Stanford's. I will be running for you!
