Sarah & Laura's Potters 'Arf page

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Sarah and I are running our 2nd half marathon - the Potters 'Arf, for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice in North Staffordshire in memory of an extended family member, Sylvia Wallace who sadly passed away in December last year.
Sylvia battled various Cancers for 15 years; having being first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000, and diagnosed with cancer again in September 2015.
The reason we chose to run for the Dougie Mac is because they provided excellent end of life care for Sylvia back in December at her home for as long as possible and during her stay in the hospice in Stoke on Trent. All of the Dougie Mac staff treated Sylvia like part of their family; they were accommodating, supportive and compassionate; they let all family members visit at the same time, at any time of the day; they offered counselling to Sylvia and her family; and they worked with a smile - making Sylvia's end of life as comforting as it could be.
Dougie Mac offer amazing end of life care to patients of all ages and their families and without them, Sylvia and many others would have struggled to receive the care and support that they needed.
Please help us reach our target, it really is an amazing charity.
Thank you for your support.
