To all my friends, family and loved ones (and those of you who've never met me but are generously supporting a very worthy cause).

2010 marks the 5th Anniversary of losing my mum to breast cancer, so I wanted to do something different to mark that occasion. I hope my fundraising will make a difference to help prevent other families from going through the same battle and heartbreak of a disease that affects so many.

Anyone who knew my mum, Audrey, knew she was a fighter and would go out of her way to be there for others, even when her own health made life very difficult.  I am trying my best to carry on her memory and hope to touch people like she did (not in a dodgy way!) and, though it sounds cheesy, the long term goal is to make peoples lives better. 

Me and my family couldn't have got through the difficult times without all your support and I am now relying on that support again to raise money for a good cause.  I am embarking on a trek through , aside from the many, many miles we'll be walking each day over treacherous terrain, I think the biggest challenge for me will be camping!  Not being the biggest fan of sleeping out in the elements, I am trying not to think of all the dangerous things that could bite me whilst I trek through rivers, sweating in the 90 degree heat.  I have paid for the privilege, so your money is not for me to have a holiday (plus if it was for that reason I’d be opting for a beach break in the ) but for the charity to continue valuable research for prevention and to offer help to those already suffering.

 Please dig deep and spare as much as you can.  I am a trained boxer who now has weapon skills and I will hunt you down for not donating! (Joke, I love you all and would never do that, but every penny counts)  I will be organising some fun, fundraising activities in the next few months prior to this challenge which I will keep you posted on and if anyone has any great ideas of how I can raise loads of money please do let me know.  I would also appreciate it if you could forward the link to this page to anyone and everyone you know as it saves me asking the same poor people over and over!
