We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

This Saturday evening we spent our night walking a half marathon around London along with Rich's lovely parents and sister, Babs, John and Kate.  The walk was in aid of cancer research.  It was great fun, but hard work (it took over 4 hours - with a 2.30am finish!)

Whilst we know it's super annoying to be asked for money by people taking part in these events, if you are able to give anything at all (no matter how small the amount) it will help to make a huge difference.

Our half marathon was partly motivated by Laura-Anne's loss of her much-loved and missed Dad to skin cancer three years ago.  We think anything that we can do to learn more about this hideous disease and stop people suffering has got to be worth shelling out a couple of quid for!

The last 25 years has seen rates of malignant melanoma skin cancer in Britain rise dramatically, and now 35 people are told they have the disease every day. Sadly seven people lose their lives to the disease every day in the UK.

Cancer Research UK is the major funder of skin cancer research in the UK. Lab research has paved the way for important new skin cancer drugs that will make a real difference for patients.
Amazing people like you support fund Cancer Research UK’s research into new treatments for skin cancer. By sponsoring me you can help more people survive skin cancer.
