We provide life-changing employment support to veterans with health conditions.

Story

The transition into civilian life can be exceptionally tough, especially when you have a major health barrier to employment. The Poppy Factory helps disabled veterans to restore their financial independence through sustainable and rewarding careers, and their ongoing support enables veterans to thrive in their new workplace. Please help me to support The Poppy Factory in providing a truly bespoke employability service.

"Over the years, my partner and I have opened our garden for many different charities and organisations.

Inspired by friends who opened their garden we started in
2003 for Diabetes UK.  Since then we have also raised money for the Mulberry Centre at West Middlesex Hospital, the British Tinnitus Society, the Royal Society for the Deaf, the RNLI,  the White Lodge Care Centre in Chertsey and the Parity Care Centre in Mytchett near Farnborough. All are very close to our hearts for various reasons.

This year, being the centenary of the 1918 Armistice, we thought
it would be a fitting tribute to open the garden in aid of The Poppy Factory in Richmond.

Our garden, being at the end of a cul-de-sac, is an odd shape and is on several different levels too. It is divided roughly into six areas, the Gareden Room, the Hot Garden, the Top Patio, The Water Garden, the Circle Garden and the Woodland Garden. All are packed with mature planting and several recycled items, some of which raise a smile or two. The star of the show is a 120 year old Ash tree which together with the trees in the nearby park, were on the original manor house estate. Although opening the garden is a lot of hard work, it is a fun day for everyone involved."

This Just Giving page was set up for anyone who cannot visit the garden but would like to make a donation, thank you."
