Story

Samaritans vision is that fewer people die by suicide 💚

Everyday stresses are a reality for all of us and one of the most useful things I’ve found for combating stress is yoga. Lately I have neglected to incorporate these into my life and this 30 days of yoga is the perfect opportunity to help me cultivate that habit again!

I’ve been a listening volunteer with Samaritans Newry & Dundalk for 2 years, I’m just an ordinary person with an open mind and a willingness to be there for someone in despair.

Every 90 minutes someone in the UK or Ireland takes their own life. Every 10 seconds, Samaritans responds to a call for help. No judgement. No pressure. There are many ways each of us can volunteer for Samaritans why not check out www.samaritans.org

If you are interested in finding out how you can become a listening volunteer or support our branch in other ways (fundraising, marketing, maintenance, IT, etc) please feel free to drop me a message. You’ll learn valuable new skills, make new friendships, and be part of an amazing group of people!

I encourage you to donate even if it’s only a pound. Your donation is so appreciated and will make a difference.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read, please feel free to share 💚
