On the 14th April I will be running the Sheffield Half Marathon in aid of Dreamflight.

Dreamflight is a childrens charity based in the UK that changes young lives through taking 192 children with a serious illness or disability, without their parents, on the holiday of a lifetime to Orlando, Florida each year where they get to enjoy all of the Disney theme parks to swimming with the Dolphins at Discovery Cove . 

Established in 1987 and operating annually since, Dreamflight believes that fun and joy are just as important as medical research and equipment - especially for children who perhaps can't wait long enough for the breakthrough they need or whose illnesses and treatments have brought pain, distress and disruption to their lives.

Back in 2009 my cousin Aidan Healey went on Dreamflight when he was very ill and the trip really did change his life and has positively impacted his life in many ways. He is now an ambassador for Dreamflight and is continuously supporting and helping to raise money for the charity to allow other children to be able to experience the amazing holiday that he did.
