My Brother John (Beanzy) lost his brave fight to Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at age 22 in February 1997 .  We are approaching John's 20 year anniversary so I thought this would be the perfect time to really challenge myself mentally and physically with a 26.2 mile run (my first, and most likely last full marathon) to raise some well needed funds for local charity Leukemia & Lymphoma NI.  After recently taking up running, I have had a reality check of just how difficult it really is but when I think of what John went through, it puts this 26.2 mile run into perspective. John is my hero, a complete inspiration to me......I will never forget that beautiful big smile of his & his zest for life.  The room lit up wherever he entered.....He was an inspiration not only to me but many others and was often called upon to speak with  the newly diagnosed on his ward.  He showed real kindness & compassion, thinking of others before himself.....I couldn't be more proud of him and the person he was so I  am fundraising  to remember John and support all the victims & their families affected by blood cancers!
