Story
So myself and a few other crazies were meant to be leaping from a plane today, Saturday, 9th May 2020!
However, Covid-19 scuppered our plans, but we now have a NEW DATE for our jump which will be 9th August 2020!
So my fundraising story continues, please take a moment to read why I am doing this and then reach for your purses, your wallets, or that jam jar, and help me raise funds for a great cause.
In 2018, I met Amanda, Mother of Rob Holland, who had tragically been taken too soon by a rare teenage tumor called Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT). Rob was aged just 14 yrs old.
We met because the company I work for, D&B, wanted to fund raise for a local charity, so we baked cakes, held raffles, competitions and clothing sales etc etc. The result, with matching from our company, was a £17k cheque presented to Amanda for Robs Arttt. Her reaction to this was priceless, she is such a passionate mother who tirelessly fund raises in her sons memory to help others. The cheque we presented meant so very much to her, her reaction and sheer gratitude for what we had done truly touched my heart, and we have kept in contact since.
So when Amanda reached out for volunteers for her latest fundraising idea, a Charity Tandem Sky Dive, I "jumped" at the chance to fund raise in Rob's memory!!
So please, please sponsor me, I'll be leaping out of a perfectly good plane with hopefully a Brad Pitt-lookalike as my tandem buddy, to raise funds for research in to DSRCT at the Institute of cancer research, Royal Marsden, Surrey and to ultimately save other teenagers lives.
I've never done a jump before, my two children think I am mad, and most of you will also agree with that, but everything you give goes towards Robs Arttt!!
Thank you for reading this, and thank you for clicking Donate!
Let's hope I land safely!!!
With Love
