Each year, I attempt to raise money for a different charity as they all appreciate help in obtaining funding, and I see partaking in sports and setting myself a big challenge as being a great way to do it.
On Sunday 4th October 2020 (previously 26th April 2020), I ran the VIRTUAL Virgin Money London Marathon for Youth Hostels Association. Sadly, the COVID-19 situation has caused the official 2020 event to be cancelled.
FEAR NOT - the money donated so far is not lost, and i will STILL run for your donations HOWEVER....this will not take place until 24 April 2022 now as I have deferred my charity position until a time in the future where i am confident there will be a vaccine and the event is likely to go ahead.
I thank you all personally for your donations to date - you are all stars!
My target is £1,500 - and I will need all the help I can get to achieve this - so please help me in any way you can.
Today millions of young people live challenging lives together we can help create unforgettable moments in amazing places, on their first big adventure. With your support we can deliver experiences that have the power to change young people’s futures. Moments where young people believe in themselves for the first time, recognise their talents and develop the ambitions that will take them on a different path through life. For the millions of young people facing poverty, disability, long-term illness and other challenges, these moments are rare.
In 2015, I ran my first half marathon for Mind, a charity who provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problems. I raised over £827 (before Gift-Aid)
In 2016, I ran my first Tough Mudder event supporting Help for Heroes who help wounded, injured and sick veterans and their families.
I raised over £352 (before Gift-Aid)
In 2017, I ran the Great North Run (Half Marathon) for Scope Charity because Scope helps those who cant always help themselves.
I raised over £507 (before Gift-Aid)
In 2018 and 2019 I took a hiatus from raising funds directly for charities and decided to support the charity events of others by making donations ....but now I am back to help by doing what I can!
I believe YHA is a fantastic charity - and hope you agree.....
Please donate whatever you can afford and help me to help them.
Back in April (w/c 27 April 2020), YHA sent out a very touching and amazing video of how the money they receive through sponsorships, like yours, helps families and young people with rare conditions.
