I, along with a few of my mates, am taking part in a 10km run with numerous obstacles!! I am currently 'training' for this run and I want to try and raise as much money as I can to help people like Bry who have been through this horrible time! It's about time we all did our bit and kick cancers arse!
So please dig deep and help us raise as much as we can to support a charity that is helping save people's lives everyday.
Brys story -
"Throughout my life I've been fearless of everything and always felt a sense of invincibility. However, in the back of my mind there was always one thing that I knew nobody could prevent - the one thing that: if it came knocking on your door - you couldn't stop it getting in. That one thing was Cancer.
In August of 2015 whilst working as a postman, unfortunately I found myself confronted by two snarling Staffordshire Bull Terriers - one of which managed to get it's teeth into me before I managed to outrun them both and escape. This incident left me with severe bruising in a delicate area and although it initially went undetected, eventually resulted in a cancer diagnosis in November 2015. Fortunately i had a few special people in my life that were there for me from the off and the very next day i was in the hospital being operated on.
By early 2016 i felt back to my best... until i was told i had another lump in my stomach which was active and needed months of Chemotherapy treatment. i chose to keep my illness under wraps as much as possible which enabled me to get on with social engagements etc without too much change, and notably helping remain positive through the tough times. During late April I lost my hair and finally felt like it had got the better of me. Despite this I still had some amazing family and friends around me that helped me through the darkest days of my life when i felt like giving up. I'm pleased to say that in early June 2016 after an operation, hundreds on needles, steroids, numerous drugs that i still can't pronounce, months of chemo and a mental/physical battle - I was finally cleared and my outlook on life will never be the same again. Take nothing for granted! :)
On Saturday 24th September 2016 at Capesthorne Hall in Macclesfield, myself and 7 of the people that were by my side will be completing the brutal muddy 10km obstacle course that is Born Survivor. I have chosen to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support as i know how much harder things would have been had I faced the past year alone. Not everyone is fortunate to have loving, caring people in their lives through the hard times - and this is where Macmillan come in."
