Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity, supporting young lives from birth to 18. Our mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across Cumbria who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs.

Story

So on the school runs recently we have been listening to CFM and cash for kids has been mentioned a few times. Ollie (who is 9) asked me several times what it was about and I explained it was a way to raise money and donate gifts to get children Christmas presents, and that these children may not have got any otherwise.

He’s a very generous lad and was upset to hear that some kids might not get any presents, so at first he wanted to donate his pocket money. I then suggested we do something together to raise some money.

Ollie and I have been running together recently following a challenge having been set during lockdown by his football coach Colin from Stanwix Hornets. The challenge was to run 5k as fast as he could.

So Ollie decided that I should run at least 1.5 miles every day  of December up until Christmas Day and also do 50 push ups a day. Ollie would join me every other day on the run and  do 25 push ups. Ollie also suggested I don’t drink beer until then either so I could lose my belly 😂

So pls donate as much as you can at this very difficult time. Thank you and Merry Christmas
