Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am planning on running the Virgin London Marathon on April 22nd 2012 in aid of the Ronald McDonald House Oxford. My first ever full Marathon
Ronald McDonald Houses are a “home away from home” for families with children in hospital, somewhere free to stay for as long as they need to. There are currently 14 Ronald McDonald Houses and over 25 sets of Family Rooms across the UK, all just a stone’s throw from the children’s ward. Together, they provide more than 400 rooms for families each night of the year.
Now you may be thinking why Oxford, well this is where my godson Reuben George Ransome was born 4 weeks premature earlier this year. Reubens Dad, Andy is one of my best friends who I have known for 30 years. Andy, his wife Kate and four year old daughter Hannah were able to utilise the facilities at RMH Oxford while Reuben needed to be kept under observation in the Hospital next door. This was a huge help and enabled them to stay close to Reub's at this traumatic time
Reuben is now doing fine and growing rapidly, no doubt very soon ready to pester his older sister Hannah and keep his mum, dad, aunts, uncle's and grandparents on their toes!
Please donate whatever you can to such a fantastic cause and help parents like Andy and Kate stay close to their children when they need to be in hospital. If you'd like to find out more about this fantastic cause please go to www.rmhc.org.uk
Many, Many Thanks
