Brighton Marathon 2019
Campaign by Diabetes UK (RCN 215199)
Our runners are taking on the epic Brighton Marathon - one of the UK's favourite 26.2 milers. The setting is beautiful, the challenge is huge but we'll be right behind them all the way.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Diabetes is a lifelong condition which causes people to have too much glucose in their blood. Having these high glucose levels can lead to a number of serious complications over a person's lifetime.

As many of you know, Dave has Type 1 and despite all the needles, doctors appointments and complications that come with it, he manages amazingly well and remains completely positive through it all.

I thought the least I could do was set myself a challenge and try to raise money for a cause that is close to our family, so I'll be attempting to run the Brighton Marathon in 2019.

There is still room for improvement in the way diabetes is managed and there is still no cure for Type 1 or Type 2. Funding is needed to continue research working towards these goals. Diabetes UK has a vision of a world where diabetes can do no harm. Current funded research spotlights include mobile eye tests to help prevent blindness and development of an artificial pancreas.

Any donation is much appreciated, every little bit will help me get through the 26.2 miles!

Thank you!
