What I'm doing.

Hi guys, I'm going to be doing a challenge called the the 52 mountain challenge in order to raise funds for dementia UK.

What the challenge consists of.

Basically I'm going to be hiking 1 mountain in the UK every week for the year, hence the name the 52 mountain challenge, starting in January 2022.

Why?

To be honest there's a few reasons for taking on this challenge, mainly to raise money for dementia UK, but also for myself it's a great way to challenge/reward myself both physically and mentally each and every week, it will also help keep the love handles at bay 👍. Thirdly I think it's great for anyone to get involved and join me whenever they feel like a bit of escapism, chat some things through or just see some great views, I'm very laid back and if anyone wants to join me at anytime just drop me a message on here and we can arrange something 😀.

Why dementia UK?

Dementia is very personal to me and my family after losing both grandads who suffered with dementia towards the end, very cruel disease. Not easy seeing such strong, hardworking and proud men forget who any of us were. But it's such a common disease and I think most people have had someone or know of someone who's had this in the family.

How it's gonna work?

Basically I'm gonna pick a mountain to climb each week pick a date and time and post it a few days before, so if anyone's interested in joining feel free to tag a long. Also if anyone has any suggestions on which mountains I should do feel free to leave a comment or message with your suggestions. I'll take photos and maybe some videos and post on the page once complete and prepare for the next one.

I know it's really hard times with the pandemic etc, a lot of uncertainty about the times ahead and with Christmas round the corner, but if you can spare anything, why not for a worthy cause, I'm gonna be doing this for a year so hopefully we can raise a decent amount. Anything you can give will be amazing, 10p I don't care I would be erternaly grateful.
