Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The #Selni Regional Charity Day is going to be “Dig Deep for Doreen Day”.
The day is all about raising as much as we can for Myton Hopice, a place that in a few weeks gave hope and strength to Paula White’s Mum and family ensuring the precious time they had was the best it could possibly be.
On the day Paula took her mum into Myton there began a chapter of all their lives that they will cherish forever. They all quickly learnt that a Hospice was not only a place where people go to die, it was a place that gives hope, strength and time to everyone including her mum’s dog Alfie. Within hours of arriving Mum was more comfortable than she had been in months and over the next three weeks the fantastic team at Myton put them all in the best place they could possibly be. Everyone had time for them, be that consultants, nurses or “Tom” the tea man, they could visit whenever they wanted, stay over, have dinner, a glass of wine, sit quietly, hold a conference call, mark school books and Alfie was welcome too!
Three weeks after arriving Paula and hermum packed to leave although it took a while as she said good bye, to the many friends she had made and in her words left a place that had changed their lives and given her the chance to “be doing”.
On leaving Myton her mum was never in the situation of pain controlling her life again and with all the things they had learnt as a family and in the best place possible to support her Mum.
So as we all come together for our Charity day it was would be brilliant if we can share just what a difference hospices can make to people’s lives and raise some much needed funds for Myton too.
