Amy's Story:

A few years ago I decided to do things that scare me. During that time I have achieved some amazing things, big and small including abseiling 100ft from the roof of Yeovil Hospital and performing a whole show on roller skates in Motiv8's starlight express in May 2016. So I thought it was about time to do something else pretty big- A 10,000ft Tandem Skydive on Wednesday 25th July.

I am raising funds for the Dementia Team at Yeovil Hospital, as I know first-hand the difference the team makes to the patients. We wouldn't be able to fund activities such as music on the wards, tea rounds, Lofty the Therapy Pony visits and all the other activities we do, without the support from the Trust Funds.

Lesley's Story:

So, I wanted to do something my children and family could be proud of and to mark being 40 (albeit a bit late)!

The thought of a Sky-Dive (not least a record breaking attempt) fills me with absolute horror and dread, but I know it will be just a few minutes of my life.

Breast Cancer is a condition that affects so many. Working at YDH for Yeovil Hospital Charity I have gained a deeper awareness of just how many people receive such a diagnosis on a daily basis, and who every day are facing horror and dread, difficult decisions and uncertainty with such bravery.

So, in honour of each and every one of them, and of friends who are facing or who have bravely fought the same challenges and to follow in the footsteps of inspiring colleagues who have achieved even greater in pursuit of fundraising for the hospital, I am challenging myself with this SkyDive as my parting gift to the Fundraising Team, and the hospital and am raising funds for the Breast Cancer Care Team at Yeovil Hospital.
