Anyone who knows me would probably describe me in two ways: I have the hair of a mermaid and I drink like a fish!

This year, like far too many others, the world has lost some truly wonderful people to a terrible illness: Cancer.

I can't offer much in terms of comfort or money or even time to help this cause since I'm a full time student and a support worker for people living with a disability. What I can do is offer to give up two of the things I love this month: my wine and my hair! Now as you can see my hair is INSANE! I've done a lot of hair modelling in the past and it has been my trademark feature for as long as I can remember. I plan to shed this (to a short ear length crop I reckon) and donate it to the Little Princess Trust where it can be used to make wigs for girls who have suffered from hair loss (see http://www.littleprincesses.org.uk/) 

It might seem daft, I'm sure I am. If anyone wants to contribute to help the wonderful nursing team at Macmillan continue with the fabulous work they do in supporting people living with this illness and those affected, please feel free to give whatever you can.
