In Memory of my nephew Rhys Downes who was 13 years old and was battling with a brain tumour since April 2019.  After undergoing rigorous radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment Rhys was told that his condition was terminal.  One of his immediate reactions following this devastating news was to inform his family that he intended to fundraise for a child to travel to Orlando, Florida with Dreamflight. Rhys experienced a Dreamflight trip in October and had an unforgettable, wonderful time, always content in the knowledge that he and the hundreds of other children had full medical team support 24 hours a day. This holiday of a lifetime would not have been possible without this wonderful charity. Rhys wanted to raise £3,500, the cost of sending one child to Orlando. Your help in raising this sum would be gratefully appreciated.

Post Note. Thank you all for your amazing support to achieve and exceed Rhys’ original £3,500 Dreamflight target so quickly. However, it is with enormous sadness that I inform you that Rhys lost his courageous battle and slipped away, peacefully, on 6th January. He was aware before he died that his fundraising dream had been achieved and he wanted fundraising to continue to sponsor two children on a Dreamflight experience. He was a truly inspirational young person.  Thank you again. Lesley
