Story

Dear Friends,

This Sunday, 29th July I’m taking the challenge to cycle 100-mile (160km) at Ride London-Surrey100 to raise funds for Smile Train.

This wonderful charity provides 100%-free corrective surgery for children born with cleft lips and palates, like the little angels on this page album. Globally, 1 in every 700 children is born with a cleft. In developed countries like the U.K. free corrective surgery is performed by the NHS shortly after birth. With surgery at such early age children have little or no scarring at all and are able to live normal and healthy lives!

While surgery can take as little as 45 minutes and cost as little as £150, it is out of reach for many in the developing world where most cannot be breast fed, eat or speak properly and face social exclusion as they aren’t allowed to attend school or hold a job.
No child should endure this so I’d appreciate your support, whichever the amount.

I'm not on Facebook which makes fundraising considerably harder, so I’m counting on your support to make these children's smiles a reality!

My sincere thank you on behalf of the Smile Train children!
Much love,

Jaime
