Great Scottish Run – Half Marathon 2013 · 6 October 2013 ·

The Fragile X Society is the only charity dedicated to individuals and families living with Fragile X syndrome - the most common cause of inherited learning disability. We are continually working to improve the quality of life for all people impacted by Fragile X.

Story

As many of you know, in my spare time I am a dedicated football coach in Edinburgh and Dundee. I feel lucky be part of two great clubs and the football family they represent.

My first coaching opportunity came in 2008  through an important friend of mine Euan Sweet and I've remained in close contact with Euan and his family ever since. Euan has a 5 year old son called Oliver who has been diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome which severly affects development and learning. The charity Fragile X Society who I am running for gives a huge amount of support to families affected by this. By running a Half Marathon this is my way of giving something back and contributing to the support provided by the charity. Your generosity is greatly appreciated by myself and a very worthy charity, thanks everyone. L
