Paras 10 Colchester · 18 May 2014
I am entering the PARAS10 – a 10 mile extreme endurance race wearing a 35lbs/16kg Bergen (the weight of an average suitcase for a fortnight holiday) and army style boots, across difficult terrain including crossing waist height rivers.
It is an extreme event because it is the same challenge completed by recruits to the Parachute Regiment. Most competitors are serving or ex military, and male so I’m at a big disadvantage! Although I will be supported on the way round by my very own soldier, my Husband Tom.
I am raising money for the ABF – The Soldiers Charity which is an amazing charity helping soldiers, ex soldiers and their families in times of need.
As this is an EXTREME event there is a chance I may not finish it. If you would like a refund should this be the case then you are welcome to donate direct to me and I can give you your donation back if I don’t finish– this isn’t possible with Just Giving.
What I can assure you of is that I will give every single ounce of strength I have to complete this. There will be blood, sweat, and tears, but hopefully also happy tears at the finish line.
Thanks for reading about my challenge of a lifetime!
