Story

On a damp Saturday morning in September (the 16th) i'm supposed be taking the leap off the 'Titan' crane in Clydebank to raise money for WestGAP.

To cut to the chase, i'm absolutely BRICKING IT. I think i was feeling nihilistic when WestGAP asked me to do it, so just went for it, but now i'm having to live with the consequences of my actions. To be totally frank, i just don't know if i can handle it, and that's why i need you to GIVE ME YOUR MONEY - as MUCH MONEY as possible, to pile on the pressure so i don't back out.

Out of all the people doing this bungee jump, it is an UNDENIABLE FACT that i am the most chicken of all, so if you're thinking of donating to someone else, DON'T, just give it all to me PLEEEEAAAAAASE!

I'm supposed to tell you why i'm doing this, but i've been struggling to figure it out myself; for a while i thought it might be character building, but i've come to realise it'll more than likely shatter the remnants of the little personality i have left.

But though there's just an empty void of reasons for me to do this on a personal level, there's a MASSIVE PILE of reasons on a political and economic level:

WestGAP, the organisation i volunteer for, does AMAZING work providing practical support and solidarity to those facing the worst effects of welfare reform, cuts, and austerity in general. Entirely voluntarily run, and with an eminently un-fundable attitude towards authority and professionalism, WestGAP are in serious need of cash to continue the work they are doing.

So any money you give, big or small, will be super helpful. I'm not doing this to try and come across as a good human being, but seen as our other funding options have dried up, i thought if my 70kg body, a crane, and the irrepressible force of earth's gravitational pull, can get WestGAP a bit of cash, then i've really got no other choice but to give it a go.
