Story
John McAvoy: 2/5/1950 - 6/3/2015
Our Dad, John, passed away on the 6th March 2015 and it's taken a while for Liam and I to get to a point where we feel ready and able to raise donations in his name.
We've chosen to support the work of Princess Alice Hospice as it was important for Dad, and for us, that he was able to remain in his home - the home where he had lived happily married for nearly 40years and the home where each of his 5 children were born and raised - until the end of his days.
As a hospice, the Princess Alice does provide a comforting and compassionate space for end of life care, however it also works to help patients remain in the own home, surrounded by the people they love. It's from this tireless work with patients in their own homes that we benefitted, and it's for this tireless work we are so grateful.
We've set ourselves the challenge that between us, Liam and I will be running the Manchester Marathon, Belgrade Marathon, Edinburgh Marathon and the London Marathon over the course of the next 6 months, with other races in between.
We ask that if you have memories of John or have heard us speak so fondly of him, then please make a donation and help Princess Alice Hospice continue their valuable work.
With our love and thanks,
Liam and Fraser
