Hello, and thank you for visiting my page. So for those of you who don't know last year I had a very mild back problem, I slipped a disc and as a result was in a significant amount of pain. I was out of action for merely a few weeks! During this time It really got me down, everything felt like a struggle, simple things that I had previously done without thinking now   caused a significant amount of pain. 

Fortunately the pain subsided and I am up and running. It got me thinking how debilitating this was for me. Imagine living life in permanent pain or dealing with a disability every day. The affect that this would have on your ability to live your life, the affect on your independence.

My work colleague Andy(and now coach) at the HR Dept suggested I take part in a half marathon and I laughed. I haven't ran for over 20 years! As an ex smoker/semi permanent couch potato I didn't think I was capable. Six weeks into my training and I am well on my way to achieving my aim. I still haven't actually ran 13 miles... But I have 4 weeks to go. 

A few weeks ago I met a wonderful lady from the Enham Trust. The Enham trust is a local disability charity who provide services to over 6500 disabled people each year that focus on individuals abilities, enabling them to live a life of independence, choice and control. 

The Enham Trust  have facilitated opportunities for hundreds of thousands of disabled, elderly and vulnerable people to live the lives they choose, as independently as possible. Which is why id really like to help them to raise awareness and to provide them with my target of £500.00. 

Please help me make a difference, however big or small.
