Hey guys, it's that time again to get mighty physical and take on the 2.6 challenge! The LimbPower super team of Kiera, Rebecca, Rachel and Simon have joined forces to walk the whole Ashdown Forest Clumps route. Believe us when we say it. It is NO easy feat. There are a total of eight clumps that circulate this barren heathland made up of hilly and rough terrain to combat will be demanding for us amputees and Rachel, a wheelchair user.  

The distance covered is a whopping 26 km!  All of us will endure a whole day of constant non-stop walking with pain and blister sores taking us to the finish line. The reason why? To raise money for the children’s LimbPower #ICan Children’s Camps, these fantastic family adventure weekends bring together amputees and limb different children to let go and have fun without the feeling of looking and being different.    

Each place at the #ICan children’s camp costs £115 and we are hoping to raise enough money to put on a second camp as we have seen more enquiries than we have places and families really  need this support right now. The whole weekend costs LimbPower £14,000. These weekends are so important to the mental health and physical wellbeing of the children and their siblings and parents - especially since lockdown has disproportionately affected our disabled communities with reduced opportunities to socialise with other children ‘like me’

Note * 2020 and 2021 has been extremely tough on UK charities. As we come out of lockdown LimbPower are planning two camps for Children and families and one for adults. We also want to create more children’s infographics for running, football and netball.
