Christmas 2014 I had a profound life changing experience after contracting Group A Streptoccal Pneumonia ,complicated by respiratory and organ failure due to septic shock. The consequences of Sepsis resulted in below knee amputation on both legs and amputation of all my fingers sparing thumbs.
My whole world as I knew it was literally turned upside down and after extensive physical and emotional rehabilitation I’m pleased to say I’m where I am today.
With Christmas approaching and it coming up to my four year anniversary I thought what a better to stay focused and take part in raising money for the limbless Association to help fund the I Can project which is a weekend of fun sporting activities for young amputees and families.
The past year I have been volunteering as a volunteer visitor for limbless Association as well as helping out with their monthly coffee mornings . I really feel the limbless Association has given me my purpose I’ve always dreamed off and that’s to help others and to make a difference as no amputee or person need to cope alone.
This experience will be rather challenging for me as I have had on going difficulties with my legs and walking on an incline is the most challenging thing as an amputee plus being bilateral I use 50% more energy. So trust me I’ve chosen to do it in style being the O2 !! I’m hoping with the support of my amazing dad and oldest friend who have supported me through my journey it shall be a very rewarding day. Lets just pray coming down isn’t too tricky ha ha.
Please consider donating as I’m slightly nervous and shall really pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
Thank you
Big love ,light and happiness
