Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Linda's JustGiving page.

Linda and Pierson would like to give something back to the British Heart Foundation as a big thank-you for saving her life at the age of 5 and then again last year. So we are celebrating her 40th with a party for you all and asking that no-body buys her a birthday present. Instead, if you'd like to give something, please give it the the British Heart Foundation to help them to keep saving lives.

For party details (Eversley Park Centre LS25 6BA,  July 13th) please visit the facebook page which will update regularly with details of: the hog roast, food, music, charity auction and raffle. We're paying for the venue, food and music, so all donations go straight to the British Heart Foundation. Do feel free to bring your change for raffle tickects and games like "Whisky Bowls" where the person who rolls their £1 coin nearest the bottle of whisky (or champagne) wins it.

As you may know, Linda had life-saving open heart surgery last year. If I thought that the 8 hour operation was long, then the 10 days leading up to it were harder to deal with. For me, her friends and her family, being told she had a 10% chance of not surviving the operation was a bit like waiting 10 days to watch her play Russian roulette with a 10 chamber revolver.

Thanks to the British Heart Foundation amazing heart surgery is now possible. Linda has a new valve, her existing valves have been tightened, her rogue nerves which caused her heart attack have been frozen and she has her own personal defibrillator fitted. This doesn't just keep her safe, but has improved the quality of her life. Truely amazing and great to be able to celebrate Linda's 40th year, but it's not just Linda.

The British Heart Foundation is working to protect  the innocent children born with congenital heart malfunctions (like Linda) and those of us who may suffer heart disease in later life. Please join us in celebrating Linda's 40th and please help us to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
