Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2014, Nick Palmer a member of Flyers Southend Running Group, tragically passed away shortly after finishing the Southend Half Marathon.
The Finish Line Fund was set up in Nick’s memory and achieved registered charity status in June 2018 (1179170).
I didn't know Nick, but if it wasn't for the Flyers Southend running club I would never have discovered the passion I have for running. It has not only brought many fantastic people into my life, I have also made lifelong friends, considerably improving my own health and wellbeing along the way.
It it through the Flyers that I have been able to volunteer as a marshal at the London marathon and because of this, I was super lucky to win a place in the volunteer/marshal ballot!
The Finish Line Fund objectives are:-
The preservation and protection of good health for the public benefit in East Essex in particular, but not exclusively by:
· The provision of grants to runners and/or their families who have been affected by serious injury, disability or death whilst participating in the sport of running.
· Promoting running and other sports at an amateur level in Southend-on-Sea and surrounding areas by organising running events and providing equipment and sponsorship to clubs in Southend-on-Sea and the surrounding areas to promote health and wellbeing.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you,
