Story
Thank you for taking time to visit my just giving site.
Nearly 10 years have passed since I lost my best friend at the tender age of just 29 to cancer, something that still seems almost impossible to believe is true. Claire touched so many lives. She was an amazing sister, daughter, auntie, niece, cousin and friend. She always, always wanted to listen and try to make things better for anyone that needed it... or at least that she thought needed it! She wouldn't give up on anyone. Leaving her job in social care left a whole that not many out there could fill.
Her energy seemed limitless, she loved her mates and had so many, always brightening peoples lives. Tears of laughter was something she was best at creating! I was so privileged to have 20 years of her so close in my life as we grew together through the excitement and carnage of teenage life and beyond, she was my rock, my listening ear, my councillor, and my personal comedian...never failing to be there and she pretty much became the sister I never had.
It is for this reason that I and a few other relatives and friends have decided to carry out a number of events on the lead up to our 40th birthdays and 10 years since we lost Claire, keeping her memory alive and raising money in the process for The Chrisitie. The place where Claire regrettably, but very bravely lost her battle, but also where new treatment and amazing facilities are giving hope and new successes in the fight against cancer... something that sadly has touched most peoples lives.
Please give what you can and if you would like to join in with any of the events we are planning, please get in touch. I will keep you posted on what these events are and (hopefully) our successes!
Thank you
