Story

Ok, we are taking a deep breath and delving into difficult memories. Sophie's smile has raised money solely for brain tumour research since its official launch in early 2013. However we feel that we need to move direction for a short while given the current climate and the Covid-19 Pandemic which has caused a massive impact in all charities funds.

East Anglia Children's hospice in Milton supported us during Sophie's last few weeks of life. We didn't think we would use their services but they became a life-line for us at the end. They moved us in lock, stock and a just-turned-5 year old son within 2 weeks of us too-ing and fro-ing with one of us there and one at home. They fed us, they held us, they played with Sophie and Isaac, they counselled us throughout. They even on some days took Isaac to school. There was no question, no pushiness, no nothing as we continued to care for our daughter as only we felt we could and they supported us all the way. They even organised a Christening for both of the children. As Christmas 2012 approached they kept their door and their hearts open and saw us right through it and beyond. We were the only family there. Right down to the amazing cook, cleaners, nurses HCAs and counsellors.

After Sophie died on December the 27th 2012 they kept her until her funeral. They allowed our artist friend in to decorate the casket and we decorated it with her. It all happened in a daze and they just knew what to do and what we needed.

We owe them an incredible debt of gratitude. Knowing that they are now down 1.3million in lost revenue due to covid-19, they are a charity, they are not funded but the government. Knowing that there is a risk of a child not getting the incredible love and care we received. We just cant ignore it.

So we are asking for a gift for my 45th birthday Andy's 46th birthday and Sophie's 17th Birthday.

We will of course take on challenges suggested (if we can and within reasonable ability).

I will be doing run every day in June.

However if you want to have more fun- donate to the page and challenge us to do something different. (we reserve the right to refuse a challenge- before you lot get crazy... ).

Or donate to the page and remove a days challenges from us to do yourself or do a challenge of your choice and give us a days break (this idea I like...). You could even take over our page and ask your friends to donate.

Please help us help EACH.
