Hello! and thanks for stopping by and reading my just giving page!
I know it seems like yesterday I was asking/begging/torturing you all for your sponsorship and support for my charity skydive but hopefully I can count on you again to be your generous lovely selves!
To be honest, the skydive is proving to be a breeze compared to this challenge. As one of the 'faces' of Belfast City Marathon 2012, I will be running the full gruelling 26.2 miles - can I just take a second to say that up until a couple of weeks ago the furthest I had run was 4 miles in addition to that I have recently learned that during my training it's best if I avoid alcohol! Have you ever heard the like of it?! So, with that in mind, I think it's only fair you all dig deep and give me lots of money!
Truly, it's going to be a great challenge, especially for me as I am notoriously lazy, but I am hoping that by completing this challenge I won't just feel an overwhelming sense of achievement, but I'll have an almighty toned butt and thighs you could crack nuts with!
Seriously though, I'm running for a fantastic charity called Headway Belfast, you may think I'm biased because I work for the charity, but working there has enabled me to see first hand how invaluable our services are for survivors of people with brain injuries. We provide day service and support to people and their families from across all communities in Belfast. At the minute, Headway Belfast offers a range of therapies including music therapy, drama, art, yoga, physiotherapy and counselling, but with your help we could really expand our services.
So if you sponsor me, I'll love you forever - I'll especially love those of you who sponsored me last time and do so again! And those of you who didn't sponsor me last time - get your wallet out! No donation too small.
Wish me luck!
Lisa x
