In October 2015 we secured our own premises on a *rental* basis. Over the last 13 years Greyhound Gap have been very sensible with any ringfenced legacies we have received setting them aside to enable us to turn our *rental* property into a purchased one and 2016 is the year we aim to make that happen! We are now just 26k short deposit wise of enabling us to put the wheels into motion and allow us to exert our right to buy clause in the current rental agreement. Purchase of the kennels will reduce the rent from 5k per calendar month to 3k per month in mortgage payments. Much more sensible and viably sustainable for us as a rescue. 

On the 30th January 2016 we are holding a sponsored event where some of our more elite volunteers are going to prove that if these kennels are good enough and warm enough and clean enough for our dogs they are good enough clean enough and warm enough for US! They will be entering the kennels at 9pm and spending the night with some of our longer staying resident dogs who each volunteer has a slightly more bonded relationship with and have grown to become quite special to over their time with us in kennels. We are keeping the overnighter to ONE block of just 6 kennels to make sure we do not cause maximum disruption or distress to other dogs in other blocks of kennels and to ensure as always the welfare of our hounds is the main priority this exactly is why the chosen 6 chosen to spend the night have been picked they are the dogs main carers. Prior to the volunteers entering the kennels we will be holding a fundraising night on site from 6pm to 9pm to help us once again raise funds towards the purchase there will be food available for a donation and also our wonderful merchandise and collars on sale. We are setting a VERY Optimistic goal of 10k which we may not get anywhere near but without trying who knows.
