Story
As I am sure everyone is aware the start of 2019 has been a massively busy and massively expensive time for us all here at Greyhound Gap.
Alongside our usual trainers commitments, stray pound commitments, helping dogs from other rescues that were struggling to find homes and ongoing loose dogs in Stoke on Trent we have been called to assist left right and center we have also instead of 3 of the dogs from the Canidrome in Macau we originally committed to actively taken 20 into our care after it became obvious more help was needed from the UK.
As always unless in a case of dire emergency we do not like here at Greyhound Gap to just ask for your money and not give something in return so Saturday 16th March will see the return of our favourite and best supported fundraiser our kennels sleep over!!! We know you the supporters LOVE to see our volunteers and staff bed down alongside the dogs and give them a night of snuggling up to them whilst they wait for their new families to adore them!
I am sure you can imagine with 17 of the Macau dogs still currently with us in kennels on that date they are EVERYWHERE so what better bedfellows for the night for our staff and volunteers than them? This will be such a unique opportunity for these dogs also who have so far received nothing through their lives and known only a bare concrete cell before landing into our care to receive some comfort and learn about space sharing. I can imagine for them it will be amazing.
So many of the dogs from China have landed in poor health and nearly all have been middle aged and upwards and have lost all of their teeth in the main. The money from the fundraiser will most certainly be used to cover the care of those dogs but also all the others currently in our care from all manner of other avenues.
Once again in advance we can not thank you enough for your support. The continued love shown to us is the difference between saying yes to 3 dogs and yes to 20 in times of duress and that is all down to you who believe in us.
You can follow all the happenings and updates of the Macau dogs and others in our care and the live streaming of the sleepover on our facebook page.
