Story
Ollie is a young saluki boy who was left behind by coursers with a broken leg. He was moved to a specialist veterinary hospital who weren't sure they could fix him and the leg needed amputation. We stepped in and arranged to move him to our specialist who is use to fixing complicated breaks in sighthounds and Alan has managed to repair him. It wasn't an easy fix and he has had to have a large thick plate in that will need removing once healed but we are so grateful that this young boy got to keep his leg and have to hope for swift healing. At a young age although he would have managed on 3 legs had he had a subsequent break on another in the future it doesn't bear thinking about that then there would be nothing we could do. Alans expertise came at a price of £2200 and although this is greatly reduced its still a huge depletion of the charities reserves. We have his care ongoing and also another dog who cost us £2000 and so far we have only raised £1000. We now know that until we can re build reserves we are not in a position sensibly to accept any other cases such as these. Anything you can spare will be appreciated as always and its you our donors who allow us to continue to help dogs like Ollie.
