We are a national charity established in 2009 - led by patients and bladder cancer experts (clinicians, nurses, researchers) working together to raise awareness of bladder cancer, improve outcomes for patients, improve and fund research and improve patient support.

Story

Bladder cancer is not a rare cancer - it is of the ten most common cancers in the UK - that's 4% of all new cases.Over 20,000 people are diagnosed each year, and many of those will die. Despite this, there is very limited public awareness of the disease and it is a low priority on the public health agenda. Treatments have changed very little over the past 30 years and research is seriously underfunded. Bladder cancer has been called a 'Cinderella' cancer. ABC UK is dedicated to changing this and to giving bladder cancer patients a voice.

Our beautiful, brave, strong 'Littlest sis' Ellie was diagnosed with bladder cancer in December 2020 and in Sept 2021, aged just 30, she lost her battle. In this, the 21st century it shouldnt still be this way.

So, in her memory, and on the weekend of what should have been her 32nd birthday, we are walking 53km of the Cotswolds way. We hope to raise more awareness of this type of cancer and that the funds we raise may help ABC UK to fund more research into new treatments in the hope that, in future less families will have to go through such a loss.

We know that, in this current financial situation, money is tighter than ever. But small amount anyone can spare really is appreciated.

Thank you for your support
