A charity for young people and schools, Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) equips young people with mindfulness skills, knowledge and attitudes that will support their lifelong wellbeing and mental health.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've decided to run my second ever marathon for the charity, MiSP, which stands for Mindfulness in Schools Project.

As some of you may know, I've been practising mindfulness for over 6 years now.  I began doing mindfulness since the birth of my son, Jacob. After Jacob came prematurely in Italy, my world was turned upside down and I wasn't prepared for the stress and pressures associated with being a new mom.  I tried to cope but I wasn't doing all that well most days and suffered with post-natal depression.  I was anxious and stressed and felt completely out of control.  That is until I found mindfulness.  Through mindfulness I have found peace of mind, calm and clarity. I now try and live every day with awareness, moment to moment with openness, gratefulness and compassion.

I've decided that I now want to share mindfulness with as many young people as possible as this is why I'm training to teach Mindfulness to 7-11 and 12-18 year olds through The Mindfulness in Schools Project.

My goal is to bring mindfulness to as many primary and secondary schools in my local area as possible so that we can all see our children grow and flourish with a healthy mind, full of self-awareness, acceptance and compassion.

Please help support me and MiSP by not only raising awareness of who they are, but to also help support their campaign, 'A Million Minds Matter'
