Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

Thanks for visiting for my JustGiving page - I love you already! :-) This is the 8th year I'll be pounding the streets of Manchester and raising money for the Stroke Association.

The Stroke Association are the UK's leading stroke charity and they believe in life after stroke.

They support stroke stroke survivors to make the best possibly recovery.  They campaign for better stroke prevention and care. They fund research to develop new treatments and ways to prevent stroke.

There are 152,000 strokes in the UK every year - that's more than one every five minutes and it is a leading cause of adult disability. Almost a third of stroke survivors will have some communication difficulties.  To find out more visit www.stroke.org.uk

I work for the Stroke Association so I see every day how devastating stroke can be but I also have the privilege to work with and support people who prove that there is life after stroke.  A few years ago my and family and I were also supported by the organisation when my nanny had a series of strokes.

So dig deep or have a hunt down the back of the sofa and see if you can come up with a couple of quid for a great cause.  You are stars - each and every one of you!

Thanks

Lisa xx
