Story

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR SUCH AMAZING SUPPORT - OVER £5220 RAISED BY YOUR GENEROSITY - FANTASTIC!

I WISH YOU ALL A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS AND A VERY HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR!!!

OK - it is now done.......my hair is gone!!

The shave happened on the 7th October 2017, the support received has been absolutely fantastic!!   Thank you to everyone who has donated so far and for those who will now that the deed is done!!

Firstly – I am not the brave one to be doing this – it is not brave of me at all…. I am doing this as I want to give support to the people who need to be recognised for their bravery and to raise money to help a local charity that does amazing things!

Over the past few years, my lovely mum has battled cancer twice
and she won – she is amazing at 81, dashing around like a spring chicken and livelier than ever.

Mum lost her hair through chemo and I needed her approval to do
this activity – I do not want to stir up un-happy memories for anyone around this, as I know how upsetting it is.

I want to do this, to acknowledge how brave those people who are or have experienced cancer really are.

Currently, a dear friend of ours husband, Steve Dodwell, is
going through treatment and Forest Holme in Poole are providing supportive care to the family, they are wonderful.  Steve
is fighting a very tough battle with support from his lovely wife AJ, who I have known since she was born, when I speak with her I feel so helpless, so, this is my way of helping.

We are all touched by cancer in some form, we all know someone
somewhere who is fighting, beating or sadly losing the battle with it, last year we lost Debbie Clark and Tony Brunt, in previous years many of our family friends and associates have passed, Gill Darts, Dot Hardy, Bryan Taylor, Keith Sharp, my god mother Eve Rees, Sue Matthews, Mary Bowerman, this is to acknowledge them and their bravery too.
There are many many more.

Rather than raise money for a larger charity as I have done before, I have chosen Forest Holme because of Steve, and knowing how tough it is for the smaller charities to get funding.

So, I really want you to dig deep and give as much support as
you can to this worthy charity.

I will be donating the hair to Little Princess Trust who make wigs for children suffering hair loss.

Thanking you in advance of your support.
