I'm raising funds for Animals in Distress (Torbay and Westcountry).

Hi all, for some crazy reason I am running the Newton Abbot Ladies 10km on Sunday 19th September2021. I only started running during lockdown when a few of us at work decided to do a fun running club after work to try and wind down - it was just a social thing really. After a couple of weeks we decided to work towards a 5km run
which we did quite easily so I then had the silly idea of working towards my 10km.... And here I am ready for my first competitive 10km.

I have also decided to raise some much need funds for 'Animals in Distress' whilst doing this as it really has been a tough couple of years for us during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our main sources of income are our shops and they have all been closed for the majority of it. Anyone who knows me knows how passionate I am about the work that I and my colleagues do for the animals in our care.

Please donate and sponsor me if you can...… I'm sure it will give me the inspiration to just keep running on Sunday.

 They are an independent charity and rely solely on the income from their shops, rescue centre and generous supporters to enable them to feed and care for hundreds of unwanted and homeless animals every year. They have had to close all their shops, cancel events and cease rehoming and are facing a substantial shortfall income. I'm helping raise funds for an emergency appeal to ensure that the charity can continue to look after the animals that so desperately need help.
