I've agreed to take part in the Manchester 10k (in FOUR weeks time) having done no training so far! I am doing this because im insane and also to raise money for The Encephalitis Society as they receive no government funding, and their support and advice has meant the world to me and my family. 

Those of you who know me well know my baby was struck down with
Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM) when she was just three years old, and we were all completely in the dark about this terrible illness and what it meant.

We now know ADEM is a  sudden widespread attack of inflammation in the brain and spinal cord that damages myelin – the protective covering of nerve fibers.

This was a terrible time for us and we still continue to battle the after effects and the problems Freya has been left with probably as a result of this condition, Encephalitis is a devastating illness and  sometimes fatal, and for those survivors and their families it is life changing.

Please please please give all you can and make my pain and suffering (I hate running) worthwhile
