Lisa's going to Get Caked!

Get Caked 2020 · 25 April 2020 ·
I joined Hull Hospitals just over a year ago as part of the WISHH Team, the official Charity for the Hospitals. We make a difference to patients and loved ones cared for across Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospitals.
I absolutely love been part of WISHH, seeing first-hand the difference monies raised for the charity enables us to buy items above and beyond NHS budgets. Hospital staff constantly inspire me along with the fundraisers who support our cause. Now's the time for me to do something outside of my comfort zone, having ran little more than a bath before, I am now aiming to run 5 miles ;) and take on 20 obstacles to raise funds for the WISHH Charity. (Flipping heck, I'd better get running!)
I'm really excited about this challenge and am looking forward to starting training whilst raising some much needed funds for our hospitals!
Things our charity has funded include:
New wheelchairs, enhancements to Hull Royal's Intensive Care Unit's relatives room; bed weighters to support bed-bound patients; specialist complex needs beds for the Children's Ward; Improving Dementia Friendly Facilities on Ward 8 and 80; brightening Ward 130, by making it more child friendly introducing Deep themed inspired artworks; specialist equipment for the Queen's Centre, Cardiology and much, much more....
How your support will make a difference
Members of staff across our hospitals approach WISHH for support of items, which will help them improve the care of the patients we look after. Your support will enable WISHH to make more of these WISHHes come true.
Background information
Historically hospitals have always relied on public support, even after the founding of the NHS; Hull Hospitals are no different. Our mission as a charity is to raise money to help the Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital do more to ensure every patient receives the best and most modern care possible. Your support will help provide additional specialist equipment and support services, as well as aid the transformation of spaces and facilities within the hospitals for patient and visitor comfort alike.
