Story
We are 3 girls from Scotland aged 10, 8 and 7. Our little sister, Aurora was born in November 2020 with a condition called Thumb Hypoplasia which effects one in 100,000, so she is even more special to us. Her thumb is underdeveloped, her bones in her thumb are too small and she doesn’t have enough muscles in it to be able to move it so has no control of it.
When she is between 2 and half to 3 years old, we will find out if she needs a operation to give her the chance to have a working thumb and how Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital will do it. There is 3 options on what they will do for her but we have to wait and see how she gets on until she’s 2 and a half/3 years old to know what the surgeon will do.
We have decided as Aurora loves her jumperoo that we will bounce on our trampoline for 25 hours over the month of August to raise money for Reach, we are looking forward to our challenge and want to thank everyone who is supporting us and donating money towards our challenge.
Thank you
Talia, Suzi and Leela.
