Story
So last year to mark our 40th birthdays we cycled from London to Brighton and helped raise money for the British Heart Foundation. Amazingly (well for Lisa anyway!) we made it in one piece and have lived to tell the tale. We have now decided that cycling challenges shouldn't be limited to milestone birthday years and this year are joining a Kingston Hospital team to take part in Nightrider - a 60k ride through the night that starts at the Olympic Park velodrome and takes in all the historic and famous landmarks in London.
We are raising funds for the Kingston Hospital Dementia Appeal, which is seeking to raise at least £750,000 to transform our elderly care wards to make them dementia friendly and to provide additional support for relatives and carers of loved ones with dementia.
The number of people with Dementia is set to increase and it is a condition that many of you will know someone with it. The impact of dementia affects not just the person suffering but all of those close to them.
Any support you can give us would be greatly appreciated and will make a real difference to the patients, their families and carers, and staff at Kingston Hospital.
