HELP (Helambu Education and Livelihood Project) · 25 April 2014

We aim to provide high quality education for children in Indian, Nepali and Tanzanian communities; to enable livelihood opportunities within these communities; and to motivate the children to progress as far as possible with their education and contribute back to their communities

Story

Hello and welcome to our JustGiving page! We are raising funds for the Helambu Education and Livelihood Project (HELP), a Nepalese NGO which aims to improve the quality of education for children in some of the most rural and poorest villages in Nepal. HELP’s work includes recruiting and training local teachers, building classrooms and playgrounds, and providing materials such as books and whiteboards for the schools in the Helambu region. We will be joining HELP this summer and spend a month in Nepal teaching English to the children at one of the village schools. We are very excited to meet the kids and help them learn and have lots of fun together!

Your donation to HELP will translate directly into much needed materials for the school at which we will be teaching. With every £15 we raise, we can provide a school bag with basic stationery equipment and a lunch box to 10 students. For £200, 8 classrooms can be outfitted with a new whiteboard.

To support the fantastic work HELP does, you can donate simply through JustGiving by credit card. JustGiving will then send your money directly to the MondoChallenge Foundation, HELP's UK based partner charity, which will redirect  all donations received via this page to HELP. If you would like to donate but don't have a credit card, please contact us via email or facebook.
