The Spark Arts for Children creates extraordinary experiences for children, sparking creativity and change. The Spark Festival is one of our high quality, diverse and innovative programmes which provide children with the opportunity to experience the richness of the arts in a variety of settings.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This year I am joining Team Spark #13 and will be running the Leicester Half Marathon - that's 13 miles to celebrate 13 years of the Spark Festival.

Since the Spark Festival started back in 2003, the charity has worked with more than 150,000 children and young people, giving youngsters the opportunity to access the arts in different ways and, for many children, offering them their first taste of the theatre and arts.

Money raised will go towards FREE events such as The Play-ground (which last year welcomed over 3000 people), and keeping the festival's 'On Your Doorstep' programme alive and accessible to all young people in the city.

The Spark Festival is the biggest children's arts festival in the UK.  In 2014, 24,480 children & their families attended 190 events across Leicestershire in schools, theatres, libraries, parks & community venues.
