Story

I am facing my fears and challenging myself to a Triathlon. If my friend Karen can endure Chemotherapy I can complete a Triathlon!

Karen is an incredibly positive, strong and beautiful woman inside and out, and a wonderful friend. When I found out Karen had Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, I wanted to support her in every way possible - That is what friends do right!

Karen was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in October last year which is a non curable but treatable cancer of the lymph nodes. She is having Chemotherapy treatment every 4 weeks, since November last year. From the day of the first diagnosis, Karen and her family haven't faced this journey alone, they have had the support of the amazing Macmillan nurses. The nurses have been invaluable to Karen by providing information, sorting out pain management and above all, reassuring words that everything will be ok.

For those who don't know me, completing a Triathlon is very much out of my comfort zone. I am not a confident swimmer, as I am pretty much scared of water! I currently do not own a bike and I am not the best runner, but something I feel I can train my body and mind to achieve!

I do hope that you can support this amazing charity by donating whatever you can, and I would love to see you all at Henley-on-Thames on the 10th June, cheering me on!

Stay Awesome, Love Lizzy xx
