Selective Mutisim Awareness month Benlli's fundraising

Selective Mutisim Awareness month Benlli's fundraising · 3 October 2016
Hi, my name is Benlli and I have Selective Mutism. This is a little known anxiety disorder which actually affects 1 in 150 children. Quite often people mistake children with SM as being shy but in reality we are frozen with fear when spoken to in certain situations.
At home I am a chatty, loud mischievous little boy but if you knock on my door I become so anxious that my mind starts to race and I can't think properly my heart beats really fast and throat closes up and stops me from speaking.
I do NOT choose not to speak nor am I rude. In fact quite often I have lots if like to say but my anxiety stops me.
This month is Selective Mutism awareness month all over the world and I have been chosen as the cover for SMIRA's campaign. I wanted to do this but my SM means I hate being in the spot light. Please make a donation to SMIRA by buying a band from me and help me and other children with SM 'break the silence'
Thank you
