We help transform struggling teenagers to become positive role models

Story

On Saturday 23rd June, 8 Loan Investments colleagues from Scottish Widows are walking 21 miles from Leven to Crail along the Fife Coastal Path, in aid of the Polar Academy.

The Polar Academy is an inspirational Scottish charity which identifies ‘invisible’ 14-17 year old schoolchildren with a real lack of self-esteem.  Following a rigorous 10 month training programme, participants travel to Greenland and navigate some of the world’s remotest terrain for 10 days.  On their return each pupil shares their experiences with their peers, inspiring more than 20,000 schoolchildren in their region and demonstrating that ordinary pupils really can achieve the extraordinary.

The Polar Academy school for 2019 is Bathgate Academy. We've recently provided career mentoring to pupils at the school and we’re now delighted to help them fundraise for this amazing expedition.
