Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in Wales. It's been a massive part of my life for the past five years - I've been very fortunate to be a part of this inspiring charity not only as a former employee but also as a volunteer. 

As a volunteer I've had first hand experience seeing the impact Girlguiding has on young girls and women across the UK. Here in Wales we currently have an impressive 22,000 members, including 4,000 dedicated volunteers. We were established in 1910 and are still going strong (we must be doing something right). 

Girlguiding prides itself on raising girls aspirations and encourages them to take on new challenges to reach their full potential. Following their footsteps I'll be taking on my own challenge and adventuring on the Machu Picchu trek in October 2019. ✈️⛰⭐️

Machu Picchu is the most famous hike in Peru, South America and is now one of the Seven New Wonders of The World. Our route will take us up to the demanding Dead Woman’s Pass at an impressive 4200m. We'll be walking the Inca trail for five days, with some gruelling 8-12hr treks on certain days... and of course in true guiding fashion we'll be camping in between! 🤣

I'm fundraising for Girlguiding because I want to make sure that every girl in Wales has the opportunity to join and be a part of this fantastic organisation. There are so many different pressures on girls growing up in today's society, it's so important that we provide girls with a space where they can be themselves, to achieve their potential and most importantly to have fun.
